An Entire Year Has Passed Already

I cant believe it.  I just seemed like yesterday that we were driving John down to Hocking College to start his freshman year.  Yesterday, Mom, Rich and I drove John down to start his second year at Hocking.  This year will be a little bit different though.  Instead of living in the dorm, John and 3 of his buddies are renting a house.  It was a lot of fun moving him into the house, as well as a lot of hard work!  Good Luck to John in his new adventure.

What a terrific weekend.  It was lots of work, but thanks to Mom and Rich we accomplished everything we set out to do. 

 

 

 

 

 

My weekend In Hocking

I'm a little late on posting this.  One of the reasons why I went to Hocking, was to drop off my Laptop to John.   His broke, so I gave him mine.  Therefore, I have been without my computer.  My new laptop wont be here until the 15th, so I'm using my mom's computer to post this.

Old Man's Cave is one of Ohio's most popular natural attractions in Ohio, and is one of the six major areas of the Hocking Hills State Park. The cave is a natural formation that has been carved into a gorge by the flow of the Salt Creek and melting glaciers.

We had a great weekend.  On Saturday night, we went into Athens and ate at BW 3 to watch the Cavs game.  We only stayed until half time-and you know how the rest of the game went! 

Sunday morning we picked up John and the three of us went to breakfast, before heading home.

A weekend in Hocking

Tomorrow, Norma and I are driving down to Hocking to see John.  Since Erin is home for the summer, she may drive down with us to visit as well.  On Saturday afternoon we are going to take the train that is in the center of Nelsonville.  The train takes you through the beautiful and historic sites of Hocking and lasts about 2 1/2 hrs. Should be a fun weekend!!!

A weekend with John

On Saturday morning I picked up my rental car and off I went.  I arrived in Nelsonville around 1:00; checked into my hotel and shortly after John was waiting for me in the lobby.  He took me through the hills of hocking, making a stop to look at Cedar Falls and also a stop to get some information on Ash Cave Cabins.  Its so beautiful out there!   From there, we stopped at the rental office to sign Johns lease agreement for the house that he and 3 buddies will rent in the fall.  The house is an old house that is in the heart of Nelsonville.  By this time, we were pretty hungry, as we headed off to Athens to get something to eat.  There really isnt much in Nelsonville, unless we wanted to get  Taco Bell or something from Sonic.  Before heading to the restaurant, he took me to Ohio University.  What a beautiful school!  Since, it was so nice out on Saturday, there were tons of college kids, walking around, sitting on top of the roofs and porches.  Dinner was at Applebees, before heading over to his dorm.  I stayed there for a bit, and than made my way back to my hotel.  In the morning, John and I headed to breakfast and than I was off.  What a great time with John.  On the way back home, I stopped in Columbus at the Arnold Schwartzenger Competition, where Kaylie was competing in 3 competions.  That was a lot of fun too!

Johns off to College

Its been a busy past two days.  Yesterday morning, we headed up to Nelsonville, OH to drop John and Jesse off at Hocking Hills College.  It just seems like it was yesterday, when we were heading up that way to visit and register for classes.  That was back in May, when we thought September would take so long to get here.  The day was filled with so many mixed emotions as we headed down to Hocking.  Mom, Rich, Ben, John, Jesse, Mari, Rick and Carol and I all headed for the same destination in five different vehicles.   It took about 3 1/2 hours to get there, but actually a bit longer, as we stopped for breakfast and a few rest stops along the way.  John and Jesse seemed to settle in their dorm very quickly, and unlike Ben's dorm, there is so much room.  They quickly decorated it with their many posters, Johns flag and pictures.  I'm so excited for both of them and John I am sure going to miss you!!!
